Before you do any Marketing on the Internet at all you must do your keyword research!

This is where 97% of people go wrong; they join a legitimate business opportunity and straight away start marketing on the internet.

They do not know how hard some keywords are to compete for so choose them at random!

For example a lot of people choose Home Business, now I guarantee that keyword will take a LOT of time to work on before you make the first page of Google and Yahoo let alone the desired number 1 spot!

However if you cannot afford to pay for it at the beginning Google Keywords tool is free and will show you the amount of people searching for that Keyword on a monthly basis!

You want to pick a Keyword that has enough traffic to make it worth while targeting and that is relevant to your business but with the lowest competition possible!

Make sure the Keyword is likely to pull in targeted traffic that will join your list and buy products. There’s no point picking Keywords where people expect information and help for free eg Free “Keyword”. These people are highly unlikely to want to spend money if they have searched “free”.

Did you know 42% of all traffic only click on the number one spot from the research results! The number 10 spot only gets around 6%! Not many people know this and think the work is done when they have reached the first page; if you really want to make money with Internet Marketing you need a number 1 spot!

So do your Keyword research before marketing and planning on getting your number 1 ranking with SEO.
