Some think they can work from home and take their children from daycare or other childcare, but it is never a good idea. You have to treat your hours at home as if you were truly in the office to be an effective employee. Think about all aspects of telecommuting employment before you try, as you may find you lose your job if your performance goes down in any way. Also remember that you may still have to go in for meetings and other important events, so that should be something you can easily swing when needed.
